Pryd o Fwyd’s trading conditions have been increasingly difficult over the last year and increasing rent, as well as a further huge hike in electricity costs, mean that running the restaurant with any hope of a profit would be close to impossible.

It’s taken significant investment by to keep the business going over the last year, and a further increase in costs make this simply impossible. As a result, I’ve taken the difficult decision not to renew the lease on the building.

This means, sadly, having to close the restaurant, cafe and post office with effect from today.

Setting up Pryd o Fwyd has been an incredible journey and I’m so proud of what we managed to create - transforming derelict space into a relaxing and enjoyable environment. I really appreciate the support of all the customers that visited and dined with us, and hope that we leave you with memories of fantastic evenings.

I hope to find alternative ways to bring Pryd o Fwyd to you in the future, and in the meantime we’ll continue to be offering outside catering for parties and other events.

This week at Pryd we've got a delicious menu for Friday and Saturday evening.

Delicate Carpaccio of Beef with Fresh Truffle, Parmesan and Rocket, Traditional French Onion Soup with Crouton, and a gorgeous Smoked Salmon, Spiced Beetroot and Goats Cheese Salad amongst the starters.
Our mains include Pan Fried Lamb Chop served with a Homemade Faggot, Fondant Potato and Port & Rosemary Sauce, Baked Cod with Herb & Smoked Bacon Crust, and Seared Tuna with Pan Roasted Pak Choi.

Space for pudding? Why not a delicious seasonal Rhubarb Crumble with proper custard.

We're changing our opening hours around for the next month or so until the evenings become a little lighter and we emerge from our winter slumbers!

Pryd o Fwyd Restaurant will be open Friday and Saturday nights, as well as for Sunday lunch.

The Pryd Cafe and Bar will be open usual 10am til Late, Weds-Saturday.

Our takeaway menu will also be available Weds - Friday until 7pm, offering a range of delicious hot food for you to enjoy at home.

Finally, the Pryd quiz will return on the 19th January and take place every two weeks - more to follow on that shortly!
